The choice of hearing aid depends on the type of hearing loss, the shape of the individual ear canal and to some extent the user´s own individual preferences. In general, the more powerful the hearing aid is, the larger it is, because a larger battery and receiver are required.

There are a number of different types of hearing aid, in a variety of colours, available today, Behind the Ear (BTE), In the Ear (ITE), in the canal (ITC) and completely in the Canal (CIC). The most discreet digital hearing aids are ‘Open Fit’ hearing aids or RITE (Receiver in the Ear) and RIC (Receiver in Canal) such as the Clear440 models pictured below. .
